Though in the 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Shahganj assembly segment had given a handsome lead of 24496 votes to the BJP Jaunpur Lok Sabha nominee Krishna Pratap (K. P.) over his nearest BSP rival Subhash Pandey, it won’t be a smooth sailing for the BJP as it is facing spirited challenge from BSP and SP.
